1970 Mercedes Benz 280s
Deceased Estate Sale
1970 Mercedes Benz 280s - Located in Mongo, Indiana (1 hour north of South Bend, Indiana.)
It was originally from California, then it was in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was donated to a Charity Auction in Las Vegas, where I purchased it for my brother. As I was checking the car out I noticed that the previous owner had rebuilt the motor and had many other new parts on her. My brother bought it on April 12, 05 in Vegas. He passed on in 2009 and it's been sitting ever since. The Zenith carburetors are leaking and need a rebuild.. You will need to tow the car to transport her to get her up and running again. It has never seen winter driving in Indiana, he was very anal about that because he didn't want to turn it into a rust bucket like the other vehicles in Indiana.. There is no body damage, and there was no rust on the body when I was there in 2009 taking care of his estate. There is a small amount of surface rust on the drivers side front bumper. It has new tires (4). Straight 6 cylinder, 4 speed manuel trans. Carpet needs replacing.
***I just found out the there is antifreeze in one of the cylinders, and the motor won't turn over. It was fine when I left it parked in 2009, and it hasn't moved since. Yes, ALL 4 wheels turn. If you buy it and send a transport company to pick her up; my buddy will assist in the loading of the car. This is a non-op car (till the driver of the transporter).***
***She also needs a good wash from sitting, and the paint is starting to peal from the hood.***
I'm trying to be upfront as I can. There is STILL a very good car here to either fix or I hate to say it because it would be a shame, to be used for parts. It's worth a lot more in parts....
It looks as though my brother was going to put an automatic in her. I have the trans and the auto shifting lever and driveshaft.
It's currently sitting in the next door neighbors yard.

Shipping? Here's an awesome link to a company that I used for years. It's called Central Dispatch. I know that it says that they ship cars and trucks yet I've shipped just about everything you can imagine with this service. What you can do when you sign up is you put on-the-line (lol) a description of what you have, the dimensions, the weight, where it's going, and how much you'll pay. Then the truck driver will call you and you two work out the particulars, and of course pay him. The great thing about it is you might find a driver who's Deadheading to where he needs to go, and you can help each other out. These trucks are not just Car Carriers, they're also Flatbeds, Dry vans, and sometimes just the tractor if you need a trailer moved. Just let the shipper know that the car is an "inop (not operating or running).
Below is a YouTube Video of a car very similar to my brothers.
The title is free & clear, and it also comes with the Death Certificate as well as the POA (Power of Attorney) in which I was the POA. Any questions feel free to contact me. Leave your phone number and I can call you. I'm in Australia at the moment, and will be for the foreseeable future.
